Monumental Trees in the Fiemme Valley

There are 60 million trees in the Fiemme Valley. And every tree is beautiful and useful, but some are extraordinary. For their height, for the size of their trunks, for their unusual shape, and for their age, they are real natural monuments and deserve to be discovered, known, admired. Not only do they provide oxygen, they leave us in awe. With the shape of their trunks, their branches, their foliage, they tell a story spanning many centuries, they speak of time and the environment they share with us. We just have to reach out towards them, to observe them, stand still and listen.
Every forest in the Fiemme Valley contains monumental trees, to be treated with respect and to be cared for with love, even when they die and fall to the ground.
Each one has been given a name that reflects its particular characteristics, which recalls the environment in which it has grown and perhaps its relationship with the local people.
Some are very near the villages and the roads and can be reached by short outings into the countryside. Others live in more distant places, in the heart of the wood or near peaks. To reach them it is necessary to follow the mountain paths, some of which have been made specifically to allow visitors to make the acquaintance of these green monuments and to experience the emotions that they are able to transmit.
