To visit: Rosengarten Latemar
Madonna di Pietralba PilgrimageChurch from the 17th century, large convent with a collection of votive tablets worth a visit. An ancient pilgrimage path leads from Nova Levante via Ponte Nova – Nova Ponenta to Madonna di Pietralba.
S. Helena, Nova PonenteA small isolated church from the 12th Century. Idyllic hike through forest and meadows; the chapel is located about one hour walk from Nova Ponente. Wonderful: the gothic frescos of the School of Bolzano (Giotto Manier) from the 15th Century with scenes from the New and the Old testament and the “break bench” with a panoramic view of the Latemar, Cattinaccio massif and Sciliar Mountains. The steeple holds the oldest bell in the region dating to approx. 1400.
S. Caterina, BreienIt is located above the Breien halmet between Aica di Fié and Tires. The small gothic church was mentioned in 1283, but received its current façade around 1500. The 10 wall paintings tell the legend of Holy Caterina of Alexandria and are protected by a roof at the Southern outer wall.
Museum of Local History in CollepietraThe Museum of Local History is our village’s special jewel. It was built in 1984 and can be considered as one of the pearls of South Tyrolean museums. The placement of the museum in the new parish church was more of a coincidence than a planned event. Due to the steep slope, a 16 m high stone wall had to be built. The museum and the chapel were then placed in the hollow area that remained after the construction of the wall.
S. Giorgo Church (Tires)One church was already mentioned in 1257. From the old church from 1332 only the lower part of the tower with its Roman round arch window remain. The red tower with imperial roof was built in 1739. The last redesign of the church’s interior during the second half of the 19th Century gave the church its New-Roman touch. The artist Karl Hernrici painted an impressing ceiling fresco in 1772.
Water-MillAt the car park at the entrance to the village you can find an old water mill. This mill was restored and is fully functional with a large millstone, and the interior can also be visited. This mill is to remind us of the very important profession of millers and the many mills, sawmills and forges which made use of the rivers during the last Century.

Parish Church in Nova LevanteThe first Christian church in Nova Levante is believed to have been built during the 11th Cenutry. Only in 1298 was the church first mentioned and then in 1365 a Chapel of H. Ingenuin was mentioned, who is now also the Patron Saint of the church. The rebuilding of the church can be proven during the first half of the 18th Century. A new church was built between 1827 and 1828. That church was completely taken down in 1965, except for the tower, and replaced by a new building. The current parish church was inaugurated in May of 1976, after a construction time of two years.
