Winter sports: Ampezzo DolomitesAlpine skiingThere are 35 lifts in total, 5 of which are cable cars, 24 chairlifts and 6 ski tows. A total of 45,057 skiers can be transported per hour. The downhill slopes offer great variety in terms of length and levels of difficulty. There are 39 blue slopes (easy), 30 red slopes (medium difficulty) and 7 black slopes (difficult) – something to choose from for everyone.A total of 110 km of slopes. 250 ski instructors from various local ski schools are ready to teach you: Cortina Ski School, Azzurra Ski School, Cristallo-Cortina Ski School and freelancers. All of them offer both, group or private lessons. Many of the schools also dispose of shops and ski rental outlets. A free ski-bus is at the disposal of all skiers holding a ski pass. There are 3 local ski clubs you can subscribe to: Cortina Ski Club, Ski Club 18, Drusciè Ski Club. You can go on excursions, take lessons in alpine skiing or off-slope skiing with the Alpine Guides Group Cortina. Furthermore you can give the new trend “snowshoeing” a try, where you walk through the snow with the help of ski poles.
Cross-country skiing58 km of cross-country track with all levels of difficulty, which all lead through the villages of Tre Croci and Fiames. You also have the opportunity of extending your excursion by continuing on to Dobbiaco (20 km) along the old train tracks. Of course you can rent the entire equipment. Planned amount of artificial snow: 70 slopes for 100 km.Snowboard, Carving and Telemark SkiingRental of equipment at the sports shops and at the bottom station of the cable cars. Lessons are offered by the various ski schools.Cortina Olympic Ice Stadium: you can ice skate during the entire season. Instructors and trainers are at your disposal in the stadium. The skates can be rented. We also organise Ice Disco Dances in the evenings: dancing to lovely music on skates. Swimming pools: 1 public indoor pool and various pools in the hotels. Tennis: an indoor court is at your disposal at the Cortina Tennis Club in Sopiazes village. Horse riding: The Meneguto Factory in Fraina village organises riding lessons, trekking, skikjöring (outings on snow mobiles), and excursions on horse-drawn sleighs (also at night time). Sleddog: at the Italian Sleddog School. Sledging: a slope reserved for sledges can be found in Mietres village. Taxi-bob: descend the Ronco slope at night time with the “Cortina Adrenaline Centre”. Thanks to the Taxi Bob, the emotions of speed on ice, once reserved to sport athletes, can now be experienced by everyone. The downhill run takes place on the Olympic slope of Cortina on a modern snow mobile for four. It all feels like a competition! Two passengers will be accompanied by a pilot and one professional for breaking. The passengers receive helmets and all necessary belts. Safety of the passengers is our number one priority. We would advise all participants not to wear heavy boots like ski boots or similar. Snow rafting: descend the Italia Trampoline slope at night time with the “Cortina Adrenaline Centre”. It is a breathtaking experience on a large tyre, downhill adventure along the snowed-in hill near the Olympic Trampoline. Two experienced guides and up to eight passengers provide the perfect assembly for this unique experience. Acceleration to up to 90 km/h and more is possible within only a few metres. A long flat extension at the bottom and the equipment of the passengers are the best guarantee for a smooth stop of the tyre. No special clothing is necessary; however, participants will be supplied with a helmet. Bob: national and international bob competitions for two or four take place every year at the Olympic Ronco slope. Boule: indoor hall at the Station Square. Curling: 2 indoor tracks at the Station Square. |
