back to "ski resorts" The SellarondaThe skiing-tour around the Sella Mountain Group is called "Sella Ronda". Considered as being one of the most beautiful skiing-tours of all the Chain of the Alps, ifs the due and classic achievement of a winter-holiday period in the Ladin valleys of the Dolomites: the valleys of Gardena, Fassa, Livinallongo and Badia. Around the main frame of the Tour, which can be made in one day, there are innumerable lots of mounting facilities serving ski runs of any grade of difficulty. All these facilities, building the Dolomites' Ski Circuit, offer the advantage of being usable with only one skipass: the famous Dolomiti Superski.
The Massif of the Sella is cut in its longitudinal sense by two famous valley furrows originating on the wide summit plateau at a distance of only a few dozens of metres from each other: (hat are respectively the Val Lasties ending at Canazei in Val di Fassa, and the Val Mezdi, ending at Colfosco in Val Badia. That are the best-known alpine skiing-tour runs of the Dolomites which can be made until the end of May and which can be reached using the cableway from Pordoi Pass on to the Sass Pordoi. The actual Tour of the Sella, which is made possible by numerous and advanced mounting facilities, offers altogether approximately 26 km long ski runs with a difference in height of altogether 4,500 m, and links the four passes of Sella, Pordoi, Campolongo and Gardena. The Sella Ronda is a not difficult one-day skiing-tour suitable for average skiers. |
